Hit Press Submission Guidelines

Thank you for considering Hit Press as the potential publisher for your creator-owned manga or light novel. We are committed to empowering creators by offering a platform where they retain 100% control over their intellectual property. These guidelines will help you understand the submission process and what we are looking for in your work.

Submission Process:

​

1.  We accept both manga and light novel submissions. Please ensure that your work is in a professional and polished state before submitting. Hit Press only publishes creator owned works. We do not contract creators; we only want to publish creator owned works for which you retain all rights. Do not submit anything that utilizes characters from preexisting series, franchises, etc as they will be declined immediately. Anything that is AI generated will also be automatically declined. We want to see all of the effort our creators put in to develop their skills and have their unique voices be reflected in their work. We do not pay page rates. Hit Press takes a small flat fee off the books published and it will be the responsibility of the creators to determine the division of the remaining pay between their creative team members.

2.  Prepare the following materials for submission:

  Manga Submission:

• A cover letter introducing yourself and summarizing your manga. Include information about your background, previous works (if any), and why you believe Hit Press is the right fit for your project.

• A detailed synopsis of your manga.

• The first chapter of your manga.

• Character designs and illustrations showcasing the art style.

• A rough outline of the entire story (if available).

   Light Novel Submission:

•  A cover letter introducing yourself and providing an overview of your light novel. Include details about your writing experience, previous publications (if any), and why you think Hit Press is the best home for your project.

• A comprehensive summary of your light novel's plot.

• The first three chapters of your light novel.

• Character profiles and any relevant artwork.

• A brief outline of the complete story line (if ready).

3. All written materials should be in a standard manuscript format (double-spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman or similar). Images should be submitted as high-resolution files in PNG or JPEG format.

4. Please send your submission materials as attachments to submissions@hit-digital.com. In the subject line, use the following format: "Submission: [Title of Your Work] by [Your Name]."

If any of these items are not included in your submission email your series will not be considered for publishing.

If you already have a completed book and would like to publish with us submit the completed volume in a PDF. If you are unable to submit a PDF, providing a cloud share link from Google Drive or Dropbox to the folder for your series will be sufficient.

   Response Time:

Our team will review submissions on a rolling basis. You can expect to hear back from us within 8-12 weeks. If you haven't received a response after this timeframe, feel free to inquire about the status of your submission by sending an email to contact@hit-digital.com. In the subject line, use the following format: "Submission: [Title of Your Work] by [Your Name] Status Request." We will reach out to you as soon as possible.

Selection Criteria:

 

1. Originality: We are seeking unique and original concepts that stand out in the manga and light novel market. Your work should demonstrate innovative ideas and creative storytelling.

2. Quality: We value high-quality artwork and writing. The art should be visually appealing, and the writing should engage the readers and hold their interest.

3. Strong Characters: Well-developed and relatable characters are essential. Show us the depth of your characters' personalities, growth arcs, and interactions.

4. Market Appeal: While we encourage diverse genres and themes, we also consider the market appeal of your work. It should resonate with a broad audience while maintaining its unique identity.

5. Completeness: For manga submissions, having a clear outline or plan for the entire story arc is important. For light novels, a well-structured plot and a solid foundation for the narrative are essential.

Agreement Terms:

1. Creator Ownership: At Hit Press, we believe in empowering creators. You will retain 100% ownership of your intellectual property, and we will work collaboratively with you to bring your work to readers.

2. Royalties: We offer competitive royalty rates for both physical and digital sales. Specific terms will be discussed upon acceptance.

3. Production Support: If your work is accepted, our team will provide professional editing, layout, design, and marketing support to ensure your work reaches its full potential.

4. Distribution: We will establish distribution channels to ensure your work reaches a wide audience through various platforms and retailers.
